Canoe Trip - The 4 day trip gives you a chance to try out your leadership skills with other LITs as you take turns leading the trip. The trip is also a great time to enjoy creation and have fun getting to know each other.
Leader Time - These games and activities will help you develop your skills as you learn about communication, planning, teamwork, and other parts of leadership.
Small Group Discussions - This is a chance for you to lead your small group in a discussion on a relevant topic like poverty or bullying, helping you learn valuable facilitation skills and giving each person a better understanding of issues that you encounter in the world.
Faithfully Improvising the Christian Story - We know what God has done in history, and we have some idea of what He will do in the future, but how do we live right now? These exciting sessions will help you understand the big picture of God’s story and help you see what that means for your life in the here and now.
Games and Program - Games are a regular part of our time at LIT, because at camp we love having fun! Not only is it a chance to have a good time, it is also an opportunity for you and your small group to practice running games in preparation for your internship with the other staff teams.
In the Know - Being a leader at camp, or at home, is not an easy thing to do. These sessions will help you learn practical things you need to know to be an effective leader.
Bible Studies - At Pioneer Camp we believe we should follow Jesus’ teaching to love God and love our neighbours, so we spend time looking at what the Bible can teach us about how to know God better and how we should live.
Activities - As a camp leader you will be helping teach activities such as mountain biking, sailing, or sports to younger campers, so we spend some time at LIT doing these activities and learning about how to teach them to others.
One-on-ones - This is a chance for staff to spend time with you, talking about life and what you are experiencing at LIT. The LIT staff will be there to support, encourage and challenge you as you grow in your faith and as a leader.
Internship - The internship is the challenge you have spent 2 weeks preparing for - this is where you put your skills to the test by becoming a member of one of our superb Pioneer staff teams. You will spend a session of camp living in a chalet, partnering with a senior leader to lead a group of campers at Girls Camp, Boys Camp, or Adventure Camp.
