Empowering Young Leaders!
The LIT Program at Pioneer Camp has been successfully training and developing young leaders for over 60 years. This co-ed, month long leadership development program provides a personalized, innovative mix of formal and hands-on learning experiences.
252 Crew / Co-ed, Ages 14-17 (High School)
The 252 Crew program offers youth 14 to 17, an opportunity to grow in the knowledge and likeness of the greatest servant of all: Jesus Christ.
These unique one or two week programs are designed to develop leadership abilities as you learn and serve at camp from a ‘behind-the-scenes’ vantage point. You will learn about God and grow in community with friends and leaders as you prepare food, clean, and maintain the grounds. You will also enjoy camp activities like rock climbing, high ropes swimming, and biking, all taught with a special emphasis on leadership. Each day includes service time, a camp activity of your choice, Bible study in the 252 Sky Barn, worship, and small group time.
Hours served at camp in the 252 Program count towards the OSSD’s required 40 hours of mandatory community service. Certificates will be issued at the end of each session.
Woodland Challenge / Co-ed, Ages 14-17 (Completed Grade 9)
Woodland Challenge is a four-week, co-ed program for campers who have completed Grade 9. It includes our longest canoe trips, so get ready to be immersed in the wilderness, sleeping under the stars and cooking over a fire!
Each route of our 11-day canoe trip is tailored to the needs and skills of each camper. Before we leave, our experienced tripping leaders will teach you the skills and techniques necessary for safe travel through the rugged wilderness as well as good stewardship of creation. Woodland Challenge also includes small 3 day trips, adventure activities, and of course the famous Eco-Challenge where small teams compete in a full day Adventure Race! Woodland Challenge is a unique experience not only because of the outdoor adventures, but because of the chance it provides youth to have discussion about God and look into scripture in intimate small group environment.
Basic canoeing experience and swimming ability is helpful, but not mandatory for this program. A specific packing list will be provided upon registration.
Take the Challenge, you will never forget it!
